hey, my names Brodie and this is my 76' 260c that i picked up from an old lady, its a 1 owner thats done barely any kms (80k to be exact :D ) it was owned by an old lady that bought it new back in 76 and has full service history up untill 2013, its a bit ruff and needs some TLC but it has barely any rust and runs like a charm. it even has the factory service manual which i though was pretty awesome. i joined this site to meet more people with these amazing cars as barely anyone knows what they are and they really look so awesome and different.

Damn man! You are one lucky son of a gun! :D Congrats! A bit OT but does anyone know how many 330 series cedrics are ever brought to Australia?

thanks guys! idont know how many there was but from what ive read about the chassis number mines number 1014 hah, at the moment i plan to get all the little tear and wear fix, but down the track i plan to drop, get it resprayed to a real nice colour, get all the chrome re-done. ive also been tossing up engine conversions, at the moment im torn between, rb30/25det or swaping the l26 for and l28e. im still unsure if i want to keep it auto or swap to manual. lately though ive been tossing up converting it to some kind of diesel, maybe an rd28t leaving it auto and just making an awesome cruiser.

Nice one. If in doubt, go further forward, not further backwards. Make sure you work out what orientation the slotted hole has to be in to get the mirrors rotated the right way, the 'back' of the mirror housing - the flat edge where it is flat and the lense sits in the middle of the hole, the 'plane' of that edge should be pointing perfectly across the car, don't make them cross-eyed etc.

You can go off this image and use the proportions to measure the distance on a 330. I can tell you where they go on a 230, but that isnt' much help.

yeah thanks for that, do you know anything about mounting them? they have some kind of weird hook ring thingy rather than a bolt

You might be missing some of the hardware. There should be a pivoted join hanging out of the base of the mirror and a threaded rod on there. The gasket goes on-top of the guard skin, the strainer plate, spring, retainer and nut should be underneath that skin and the assembly should be 'spring loaded' so that if somebody brushes past it, is no drama.

Nice looking car, is that factory silver? Looks great

Stock mirrors mount as Hezath said, here's a pic of mine that I put on.

As far as placement goes I went by pictures and some cues on the guard itself. I'm not sure if that is where they are from factory but it at least must be close as I can see out of the mirrors :)
I centered the hole for the threaded rod in the middle of a section of the guard under the bonnet that has been pressed differently as per pic below
[ img ]

As for the orientation of the mirror in that hole, I kept the front and back points of the plastic gasket thing parallel with the bonnet line, I'm almost on max adjustment for seeing out of the mirrors so you could try different positions before making the final decision on where the locating pin will go.
