Hey guys
Just got myself a 1600 sedan project and looking into what to do strut brake wise. Im going to do rear disc conversion, whats the easiest and best option for this? R31?
Also, with the front end, is it necessary to change the struts, or are new rotors and pads sufficient for braking. Im planning to implant an sr20det, so I want to be able to pull up well.

Any info is greatly appreciated, if anyone is selling anyone that will help me out. Please don't hesitate to pm me.

Thanks in advance

Daniel

Im not planning on engineering it at this stage. Will only engineer it if I get defected for the mods undertaken.

There are alot of different combo's for the front end your probrably better off having a read through the brake section and work out how much you want to spend to work out what combo you want and you can also go onto the datsport and maddat websites and have a look through there. R31 would be probrably the easiest option for the rear
Cheers

If you want it to pull up 'well' id definately go for larger vented front rotors.
Also i'd upgrade the the struts to ones that have larger hub bearings and stub axle diameter.
Theres tonnes of info in the brake section. Happy reading...

Thanks for the info guys. Biggest question was did I need to upgrade struts in front. Sounds like it's the best option. Might look into r31 discs on the rear. Than look at strut options in the front. Maybe r31 or 240k

I went and bought the 250c struts complete from Datsport, it was much easier than messing with the struts I had (been there, done that) and trying to get the brakes all right.
They are great for ordinary and spirited driving. If racing, go for 4 spots and bigger disks.
You can get 7/8th master cylinder and booster set, and keep the rear drums for a good solid brake pedal. Go for rear disks for less maintenance or track work.
