Hi, I always seem to be posting my car problems on this site but the recent help Has been invaluable so I will continue with this one... I have a datsun 521 ute with a j13 engine , it had been sitting n a paddock for 15 years when I got it and after new fuel and filters I got it running. Anyway now I can't get fuel to the carb. I took the fuel pump off and it pumps fuel by hand (moving the lever) and I have petrol in the tank. I bypassed the fuel filter to check that and still no luck. I also blew compressed air through the lines and heard bubbles in the tank so that seems clear. Any ideas would be appreciated? |

Well, it appears you have gone upstream and everything seems OK. Now go downstream now and check from the fuel filter to the carb float bowl for blockages/flow. My guess is a blocked or faulty float valve in the carb. |

Update. Nissanman was dead on! Faulty float valve in the carby! Cheers. |
