Hi all,
Before i put my FJ back in the bay, i want to make sure i have pre fit, fabbed as much as possible first.
Under the dash where the heater core sits, it has the inlet and outlet heater coolant hoses which go through the firewall.
My query is do the rubber hoses just go through the firewall? Or is it a metal pipe that goes through and then connects to the relevant rubber hose?

I cant seem to find too many pics that are clear enough from both the engine bay or under the dash inside???

There can be a clearance issue with the heater pipe and the FJ20 engine head.
You will need 2 x 90 deg bends in the LHS pipe immediately it enters the engine bay.

I made mine from 2 preformed 1/2" copper pipe bends soldered togther.
There is a notch in the rear of the head that accommodates this very nicely.

The RHS pipe has plenty of room since the FJ leans the opposite way to the L series.
Both rubber hoses enter the cabin through the firewall and slip over the heater core pipes.

Ok cool, thx bro.
Ive seen pics with the two metal pipes protruding from the firewall which kinda threw me off.
Anyone know a part # for the rubber grommets that go in the firewall?
