Post subject:  HOMER PARTS INTERCHANGEABILITY - MODEL H20 EQUIVALENTS

Hello Ozdatters..

Any body know if the H20 2 litre fitted to Homers in late 1970s happens to be common to other models in the Datsun range??

Intel appreciated. :hail:

I'd guess the H20 are all fairly similar. They used them in early Urvans as well as Nissan/Datsun forklifts. Were available in forklifts for ages, so parts fairly easy to get, I believe.

There was an H20 on ebay recently from a forklift.
Externally it was hugely different with some bulbous front cover arrangement.
However, as stated, internally the parts are equivalent.

H20 with EFI Hardware injection, in a Datsun Roadster. Qld car
( not standard !)
This mdel Roadster came with a R seties 1600cc engine, later engine number blocks were 5 bearing, and the H20 crank rods pistons etc would drop straight in.
Oversize pistons could get it to over 2 litre.
Would surprise a lot of people!

A guru in Melbourne has got the H20's now out to 2.2 -2.3 litre capacity, with reliability.

That's not a H20, it is a U20!

Yes it is a U20 in the picture above. The give away is the OHC written on the valve cover. U20: OHC H20 has pushrods.

An H20 looks much like an R16, especially if you fit the R16 head or Valve cover.
