HI All,

Wondering if anyone has any information about using Z31/R31 fuel pumps in the the stock 1600 fuel tank with an SR20DET?

Cheers

Harry

I did this for my L20B recently. Works great and is hardly heard at all. Only downside I found is its hard to refit the std plastic shelf/cover back above the tank as the pump flange sits a little higher than the tank.
Z31 pumps are also similar btw.
Theres a few write ups online of how to do it somewhere...

Hwy mate,

I'll be keen to follow your progress, with all my external fuel pump issues I will be doing this as well soon.

I have also read the XR8 Ford ute ones can do the job as well..

Cheers,

Trent

Any options to replace the standard tank with something that has one already fitted?

Hi All,

I have seen the great write up by Tim about using the xr6/xr8 ute fuel pump set up. I thought I would see if anyone had used anything else.

I like the idea of the original tank and no surge or external pumps (if possible). My SR is stock so I don't need anything excessive.

Cheers

Another suggestion, which I first saw in a friend's 1600 but have since seen in various other cars is welding a surge tank to the bottom of your standard fuel tank which makes that the lowest spot. Then you'll just need one external pump. I realise it's not exactly what you want but might be easier for you?

One of the problems with welding something onto the fuel tank is it warps like a Mo-Fo in a time machine.
You just have to be careful where and what.

I must say the BA falcon option is looking pretty good at the moment.

Thanks all for the feedback so far.
