Is anyone selling rear backing plates from a R31? My brothers converting his 200b to rear disc |

They bob up on ebay now and then. However, it may be more convenient to make some up from plate. The drum backing plate has 4 nicely spaced holes for a caliper plate. Lateral position is easily adjusted using shims and radial positioning would be the same as the R31 if you intend to use R31 rear discs. |

Just by way of example, here is a mockup I have done to fit 200B discs and calipers to the B120 front strut which normally is a drum brake setup:- Attachment:
The backing plate comes off and this caliper mount goes on.A simple flat plate from 6.5mm steel Attachment:
You can see the 3mm shim between the caliper bracket and the caliper which is required to centre the caliper over the rotor.Converting drum brakes to disc is a dream job compared to upgrading an already disc brake. The caliper mounts will nearly always require a lot of jiggling to get right. |
