Hi,

I know this may have been covered already... and if it has please direct me into the right direction because my search has come p empty.

What oil are people using for their R200 clutch pack LSD's? I have just got my diff back after adding the extra clutch plates to the LSD unit for more grip.

so far I have seen,

CASTROL SYNTRAX LIMITED SLIP 75W-140
Penrite Pro Gear Oil 80w-140
Redline oil 75w90

Cheers

FeZ

I use Castrol LSX.
Does foam a bit at high speeds ( 200kmh+ ) but i run an extended breather and an old plastic fuel filter.
(R200 in a Z)

Hmmm... What did the shop say that rebuilt the diff?

Typical Diff oil is 80W-90
Endurance style oils for LSD's would be a 85W-140 or similar.

Cusco, Kaaz, Os-Giken all have their own requirements for grade and type of oil. Perhaps find out what you have and get something similar?
OS-Giken supposedly recommend the factory oil because their diffs have heaps of extra plates and a softer engagement. Lurch could comment on his.

I used to use Motul Gear Competition 75W-140 (or 85w-140, can't remember, have to look at the container)which used to foam something shocking. Turns out foam is a great insulator and my diff got pretty hot doing circuit sprints...

I use Penrite lsd diff oil in my clutch pack lsd.
Interestingly the helical lsd in my crummydore uses std diff oil. Guess that's because its just gears inside and doesn't have slipping clutch plates to lube...

Can't remember what oil is in mine but I did add some Holden LSD additive to stop chattering once it warms up, as it was quite bad after I had it rebuilt.

Edit: sorry, mine is an r180, but the info might still be useful to someone.
