Hi guys

I've been reading up on the forum and found some really useful info on the r180 diff conversion for the 1600. I'm planning on using the Beta Motorsport adapters and Datsun half shafts. From what I've read I need the clutch type lsd from a STI although I'm finding it hard to find one. I can get a suretrack LSD but I'm not sure whether this will work with the adaptors? Is anyone able to shed any light on this and any other useful info for the conversion would be great!

Thanks for any help

Cheers
Chris

The suretrac centre uses the same spline as the clutch pack centre, 27 spline.
I run a suretrac sti lsd in my 1600

I'm using modified s13 r180 ones, I didn't have the money at the time too buy the beta ones.
You will need too use the tail shaft flange from your datto diff but the std r160 ones bolt straight up too the subi r180. After that it's a simple blot up conversion

Ok great thanks again!
Anyone used the adaptors with a suretrac LSD? Just wanted to be 100% sure it will work before I order from the states
Cheers

I'll be using a Suretrac (as a backup diff) with the Beta Motorsport shafts, they're the same shaft as for the clutch LSD's. Only one that won't work with the Beta Motorsport shafts is the VLSD that came out in some Australian versions (early GD's perhaps ?), one shafts longer than the other, they're unique to those diff's.

I'm doing a similar setup eventually.

I have the following;

1 x S13 R180 Cusco LSD (complete in short nose housing with S13 CV inputs).
1 x Long Nose R180 4.11 diff with locker centre.

One thing I haven't done yet is pop the inputs out of the diff to see if they have one longer than the other. If the diff was originally a non LSD centre, then I'll be able to move it all across to the long nose housing and hopefully just use datsun halfshafts to get me going. If it was originally vlsd, then it will have a longer spline on one side like the subaru ones mentioned above, at that point I'll need to consider whether to upgrade to CV or machine/press/weld the inputs to suit a datsun halfshaft.

I have had the parts for years, just no time to complete.
