Hey guys. Seen a few topics on carpets here but no real answers . I've never cut n fitted new carpets only swapped good nick ones from donors.

Heard its a frustrating job no matter the quality. Are the cheaper ones even worse to fit? The Johnny's carpets claim to have been around 30 years. Can't be that bad if still in business.

Also is plush actually nicer? Or way to shaggin wagon? Ta.

Go plush, not loop.
I've used Knox a few times, their carpets fit ok, but they can take a bit of stuffing around to get them to fit right.
personally I like what Hailest and a few others have done on here and made the carpet using sections of carpet mat.
ie, section to go over the transmission tunnel, then a section either side overlapping that for the floor etc. sits flat, cut completely to shape and looks pretty good too.

Ive used both knox and johnnys, they are pretty identical and both easy to trim and fit. Go loop for originality or plush for more modern comfort...

I've used Knox plush and I am pretty happy with it.
There's a certain procedure you need to follow (just ask them), which includes using contact adhesive in certain areas.
Scissors to chop the areas around panels etc. and it's all good.

Ive used a heat gun carefully in some areas by heating the underside and also using contact adhsv
Ive only used the cheap loop for that older look but will never use black unless you dont mind
steam cleaning from time to time as vacuum alone doesnt get the contrasting fluff sometimes.
Love the gold and copper for that old look with dark red vinyl seats or other retro colour.

Yeah unsure what I'll do colour wise just never been a fan of brown and with the car being orange unsure if I'd like to do a cream interior . Unsure if I'll use the swift gti seats in the shed recovered or the corduroy recaro style seats. Decisions decisions
