Been a pretty crazy 12 months! Last year I got married in September, went to the US and Mexico in Sept/Oct, we moved into our house in December, and now my wife is pregnant! We bought the house 3 years ago (rented it out for a while), and since it didn't have a garage I started saving every spare cent so I could eventually build one. Started the planning process as soon as we moved in, and just finished building it last week. Still plenty of little things left, but here's a quick pictorial rundown...

I just sealed the floor last weekend, so I'm letting it cure for a week before bringing the car home, which will be this weekend. Once power/water etc is hooked up I'll be able to get stuck into the car again, can't wait!

Anth are you willing to share the cost break down?

Concrete (how many cubes and $$?)
Shed cost ?
Floor paint ?
Miscellaneous or other?

Looks mint btw, will be planning something similar.

Very jealous Anth. That is the perfect set up!! Awesome work. I love my garage although not as big as yours but it is my home away from home (man land).
All it needs now is one mad looking FJ Datto to call it home!!!
Good work bro.

Might want to do something about the big rock at the entrance to the shed!

Is a hoist in the plans? Mate of mine is doing that at his place - wish I could afford to do that!

I'm just over 15k at the moment, that's for 7x10m and with us building it ourselves (I was quoted 2.5k for that!) but there's definitely some areas I could have saved more on, such as doing a regular pitched roof instead of skillion, and using the normal shaped cladding instead of corrugated. Then again we saved money by digging out the foundation ourselves. Shoot me a message on Facebook for more details

Tell me about it, I'm absolutely chomping at the bit to have the car home. I had to move it out of my parents place a few months ago because they sold their house, so it's been under a sheet at my in-laws since then.

Haha yeah, I'll get to it. Hoping to tie a rope around it and tow it into the front yard as an ornament. A hoist would be great, but I'm pretty tapped out as it stands, I still need to do electrical and storage, and eventually a driveway. Plus now with the baby coming I can see money falling through my hands at an even faster rate.

thanks guys, definitely going to be a big change in lifestyle! Just hope I'll have enough time between changing nappies to actually use the shed haha.

Nothing can prepare you for the first kid :) I just tell people to concentrate on the 2 month mark, as that is where I find it generally gets easier! Congrats on impending addition (kiddy, not the shed :) )

Sounds like I need to start saving my deniros! Might have to put my business case together to the boss (wife) to get $15k across the line!

There are some mobs that do them much cheaper, but you can't customise them, and I don't know what kind of metal they use or if they provide permits. Here's a 6x9 for much less than what I paid
http://www.ebay.com.au.au/itm/New-COLOR ... 43aa71baf6

My shed on it's own was about 9k, but that's with me extending the dimensions by 1m in width and 1m in depth, with a 5m roller door and 3 skylight sheets, and the previously mentioned skillion roof and corrugated cladding.

Very nice Anth. I'm currently having massive shed envy. Looks a lot nicer than the asbestos-lined garage at my place!

Car looks excellent too :)

Quoted for mintness.

Does the clear roofing allow sun onto your car?

Hmmm... much better than my carport.

Hopefully in a year from now, I will have achieved this also.
