I am now the proud owner of the only 1980 Datsun Violet 140J MK III in Australia!

When this came up for sale on a Facebook group i just had to buy it! so i called the owner and arranged to have a look at it the next week.
So this violet was imported from england in 1980 and has barely been driven since. It has an A14 and was originally 4-speed but had been converted to automatic for the original owners wife to learn to drive in (which never happened), so the car has only done 44000 miles which works out to be around 70000kms.

As soon as i saw the car i had to have it, the paint is so mint and is metallic, with only slight rust starting to bubble on one of the doors, which is extremely common for a stanza. This car has been sitting in a garage for years, and the registration has continued to be paid and i bought it registered and with the original plates, which im happy about.
There are some cool differences between this and the aussie stanza, mainly the engine but also the grille, bumpers, dash, interior and trims. It is kind of like a stanza and a sunny had a baby and here it is.

I will try and get some better photos up soon

I am so in love with this car! The condition that it's in is just so impressive considering its 35 years old.
Did some work on it today.
Oil change / Oil filter / fuel filter / air filter / auto trans oil / diff oil / idler arm bush / tie rod boots / ball joint boots / degrease engine / spark plugs / leads / valve cover gasket / fan belt
I also sprayed fish oil on the insides of the panels and inside the sills.
I vacuumed the interior and cleaned all of the trims etc, it came up amazing,

I like what you have done with the roof rack, pretty different to most Datsuns and the skis remind me of my 80s eBay specials :p now you need an old suitcase to complete the look! Do Australian-delivered Stanzas come with the round clock to the left of the head unit or is that Violet-specific?

Aus spec Stanzas had a square clock in the same spot.

Is it just me that gets bothered that you wash your car at night so it never gets to dry out properly?

I drove at 100kmph for around 40 minutes after I washed it. Also woke up the next morning and the car was covered in water condensation because of how cold it is so no I wouldn't worry too much. Everything is fish oiled also. Honestly you should be more worried that I am using a commercial car wash so wash such a car. I prefer to wash my cars by hand and sponge.

I can't get over the square lights but the rest of the car is lovely. Can't wait to see it.

Look after it trav.
