New to here so adding a post to sort of introduce myself.

Been driving Datsuns since I started to drive have owned a few as this list will show. ( seem fond of one type ).
Datsun 2300 Personal Six
Datsun 2300 Super Six
Datsun 180b Station Wagon
Datsun 180b Sedan
Datsun 180b SSS
Datsun 1200
Datsun Bluebird Wagon series 1
Datsun 2400 Super Six
others that I have had Datsun 2300 Super/Personal six x3

Started on a 2300 project about 20 years ago, managed to get the Nissan Y40 V8 into it, but that is as far as I got, it still sits in the shed awaiting to be finished maybe soon will get back to working on it.
Converted from front wheel drum brakes to disks, got bits to convert to ventillated disks not done.
Converted rear drums to discs, was an easy conversion after a few beers.
Now I understand I need to have full chassis if I go to V8, might have to change thinking to a skyline straight six instead.

i have a couple of these in NZ.
1 is a 1 lady owner 2400 super six in mint condition and the other is a 2300 that i have fitted a nissan v8 vh45 and auto box.
i wouldnt think you need to modify the chassis to run the y40 v8?

Yes saw the 2300 with the VH45 and have read your thread, that what got me to Ozdat.

Yep need chassis as that is the requirements for my state rego. But have found that the 2300 was also used in Japan as a police car with the Y40 V8 so wil have to find more about this and maybe get away without chassis.
