Well i haven't been on here in decades, and thought i might put up some details and build pics of my latest 200b, i first spotted this 200b 2 odd years ago sitting on a steepish driveway with a brick as its handbrake, I had driven past it numerous times and never really thought of asking if it was for sale mainly because it had a fair amount of rust and at the time had next to no motivation to think of getting another project...

A few months had past and I ended up having a Stainless Handrail install job just around the corner, after 2 weeks of seeing it every morning and afternoon and me looking back at pictures of my old coupe, I decided to leave a note in the letterbox and inquire if it was possibly for sale, another 2-3 weeks went by, and I received a phone call from an elderly gentleman by the name of Julian, he informed me that he would love to sell the 200b and was even more excited when i told him that i was a huge fan of 200bs and was wanting to fix his one up and get it back on the road, i made him an offer of $300 and I towed it home on my birthday 2014, so now the fun has started!!!

As to date, i have cut out all the rust and welded in new sections, sprayed the repair sections, resprayed the engine bay, polished up the paint work that unbelievably came up beautiful despite what it looked like when i purchased the car, I was originally going to keep the car stock with some low and just have a nice cruiser, but this all changed when I found a few small bargains on Gumtree, I ended up getting second but new Series 3 bluebird lowered King Springs, and shocks, and Fitted R31 front struts by cutting of the spring seats and replacing them with the 200b ones, the same guy i bought the suspension off also had a set off wheels for sale that were in bad shape and Z22 short motor, I managed to snap up a bargin and paid $400 for everthing in total....

i welded up the imperfections and chipped lips on the mags and polished them up using the rear right wheel jacked up and the car in gear and running, they came up awesome..

engine was replaced with a Z22 block (water jackets drilled to suit L head) bored to 89mm using ka24 flat tops, l20b rods and z22 crank, custom oversized and baffled sump slightly ported and polished u67 head with standard size Stainless Valves, and heavy duty valve springs, tighe 357C cam, S2 BBird dizzy, twin side draft 45mm dellortos on a custom fabricated manifold, and custom 4 into 1 stainless steel extractors into 57mm stainless mendrel bent exhaus

my most recent project has been fabrication an aluminum dash using autometer phantom gauges, I had a fare amount of wiring to do on this one and splicing everything into the factory harness was a breeze thanks to the factory service manual and a test light

What a cracker - really neat car and a nice resto project - looks great!

Sounds like your enjoy it as well - any future plans for it?

Once the dash is in and sorted, the next mod is fitting a cut down hilux diff that I picked up last weekend, and hopefully starting on that this weekend

finally got around to repairing and fitting the Sx Grill, makes the front end look a lot better, and also welded up the gaurd mirror hole, now just waiting for my 2 replacement gauges to come in the post so i can fit the dash back up

haven't made an update here in awhile, I have now had the carbs rejetted and tuned and its running a lot better, my chokes were to big at 40mm, also I managed to finally get around to fabricating a set of tuned length 4-1 headers in which I'm very proud of, also fitted a r31 rear swaybar which now mounts the the chassis and not the trailing arms (definitely worth it) bluebird S3 diff fitted and rear guard lip bumped out to get some clearance, new halogen headlight upgrade, and SX front spoiler on, anyway here are some more recent pics
