Some have you may have seen me driving a Orange 240 Pic below, As my Datsun addiction started in a 1600 so thought I would build another one.
So I bought this 1600 shell from a member on OZDAT for $900.

Thanks!
The Car is at a mates over the road getting prepped for paint, something I'm not great at. Luckily he is so I expecting to have it back around early Jan for assembly.
I've been working on this car for a couple of years now, but been slack on the photo's and the blog thing. So I currently don't have a lot of pics I will try to make an effort over the next few weeks to bring the site up to date with the build.
Recently did a trip to the USA for SEMA and picked un some parts from Troy Irmish and BRE I will post them up when I have some more free time.

Cheers Adrian

Here are some better photos of the custom Dash.
I wanted something different and I had purchased the Speedhut gauges a few years ago with the intent of just doing a aluminium race car dash but as things progressed I decided to make the car a little more road car so not to attract to much attention by the boys in blue.
So I went with a bit of both, Lots of gauges with a modern style. Ditched the heater controls as I didn't want the hoses going through the firewall and fitted an electronic demister.
I extended the dash centre console up to the dash pad which gave me the room required for the switch panel and centre gauges.
Not for everyone but something different.
The floor console houses the 6.5" double din unit, Battery Kill Switch , floor mounted hand brake and USB charge ports.
The finish is a Kevlar/Carbon panel .25mm thick. I may change this to just Carbon depending on the final look inside the car.
Interior is Grey and Red for the most part the seats are charcoal and res for now as they are new its difficult to spend money recovering new seats, but I suspect I will recover them to suit the interior once it is all together.

I was in the states recently and picked up these parts.
The Driveshafts are the new design by Troy Irmish racing which include better fitting hardened shafts and grease nipple access option.
The other parts made by NRG I picked up at the SEMA car show for $50 USD for the lot. Exhibiters sell there stock for cash so they don't have to take them back to their factories.

I made this speaker box last Xmas because a 4 door without a back seat looks unfinished and a seats not usable when its surrounded by roll cage.
For those into there audio the Amps are "Vibe" supercar series (Light weight)1000W for the 2 subs and 1000W for the 4 Front and Rear Speakers
The subs are Pioneer 10" 500W slimline units and the speakers are Morel temp Ultra's, Coaxial for the Rear and 2 Way for the Front Doors.
The speaker pods also hide all my wiring from the car into the boot area.
There was a lot of work to make this fit properly I think I spent about 10 days of my Xmas beak putting this and the floor console together so all of the fixing points are hidden once installed and the unit fits properly with minimal clearance.

I do a lot of auto wiring for other people so I thought it was about time I did a full car for myself.
So the Engine loom will be a milspec loom using TefZel wire and traditional Milspec assembly methods.
Its never a cheap option the firewall connector with a couple of shrink boots is $500.
Add the different heatshrink types the labour required to do this work and things go north very quickly.
the Engine loom will be visible and each connector will be labelled like any race car.
the rest of the car will be wired in PVC wire which is far cheaper.
I am putting the Fuse box in the Glovebox its a nice place as you can sit in the passenger seat to do the terminations, beats crawling under a dash etc.

Thanks Anth
I've done my fair share of watching others do the build thing on the Net, thought it was about time I gave something back to the forums.
PS going over the road now to work on the Body, Ill take some pictures while I am there.

Hi Adrian
This is an unbelievable build mate!! that dash setup and motor are sweet as. A lot of time and effort I bet. That tezfel wiring must have platinum in it haha That's the only wire most tuners will use these days.
Can't go wrong with motec they have a m84 (think that's what it called)now which is competivly priced with other ECU. I'm running an autronic ECU in my car with a motec Pdm15 and motec dash keypad it defiantly adds up.
The guy who is wiring up my car is the motec dealer for Central Coast in NSW let me know if you go ahead with motec I give you his number for a quote.
Thanks tim
