 Post subject: L20b 1978 200b engines

hello why do my two l20b '78 200b engines, exact in every other way, have different crankshaft ends? one is a bit longer with a smaller hole??? is one for an auto and the other for a manual? which is which? please help..

Auto has a spacer plate tightly fitted to the end of the crank for the flexplate to attach to. It comes off, cranks themselves are same.
