Hey there!!

Name is Thomas, 26 and from Perth.

I have recently put a deposit on my dream car being a Datsun 1600 Sedan, 73000 on the clock and is LICENSED!
Motor runs fine, new clutch, leads etc, slave cyl...new door seals in boot and small odds and ends as spares.
The opportunity arose to own this baby and I just couldn't help myself and dove in head first!

Pickup is late next week, I am so excited to resto and keep this girl as original as I can!
I think I've purchased a steal, some friends think I'm in way over my head.

Personally, I have 6 months to work on the exterior and create a beautifully presented daily to drive. Yes it will be staying the original colour too. Working from the outside in on this one.

This is my first restoration and project, if you have any tips and help I am all ears.

I am chasing original front seats, radio and steering wheel first up if anyone is of any assistance?

Join a page on Facebook called Datsun classified someone on there should be able to help you out. what kind of resto are you doing bare metal respray or just a rub back and respray? looks like an awesome start good luck hope you get it done in 6 months. also would recommend getting Datsport seat belts don’t cut off your blood supply in the neck like the standard ones, and are retractable.
