I think we are all worried about Mik and his ability to take any thread and turn it to the shitter.
Back on topic gents... :impatient:

I think we all now know the source of the problem (not miks)
Facebook has slowed down most forums. But the quality remains and thats what ozdat is all about

When I had my s13 silvia I was a member of silviansw.com.

It too seemed to stall with activity but some of the conclusions we came to was that most questions seemed to be answered, people grew up/ grew out of that car scene and moved on.

Not sure about this forum but maybe it could have the same reasons? Plus the old datto's are pretty rare these days.

I for one have been lurking around this forum for a while before joining up for info, and from what I can tell and found, it has been extremely helpful with out the need to join up and start asking a few things myself.

Two excellent points. Datsuns are certainly becoming scarce. There used to be a lot of members who where on here with their daily drives needing info on keeping them going or making them more reliable. Thats why i originally joined.

And JaceV is right your questions get answered without the crap and the excellent info remains.

Still lurking and occasional post. Work takes up too much time these days so I don't get to work on my Datsun much these days. Ozdat is still an awesome resource though.

I was a member on Ozdat years and years ago. Then sold the Datto and got more into the whole Silvia/Skyline platform for many years. But since selling up and buying another Datto 2 years ago the traffic has declined. I would have thought that there would still have been a fair bit more activity still. Now that our cars are in the older classic category that it is really only the true Datto enthusiasts left lurking.... I guess the fact that there isn't many around is a big contributing factor!
Plus.... Most of us are old bastards now with kids and other priorities more important than trolling forums!!

I haven't had much to post about lately - car is still the same, goes but needs work - there's always more isn't there...
I would still be visiting this site even if I sold the Datsun

Interesting comments.
Ozdat does have some fantastic information and most of the time visiting you don't actually post any more, but read about what others are up to.
The ability to get information fast is where facebook comes in I guess.
What would you all want to see the Facebook side of Ozdat to be used as?
What should we do with the forum?

I'm loosing interest in Facebook. As a good group starts it slowly gets worse and worse. The mouth breathers begin to infiltrate and saying "need to swap my stock rims for good alloys with new tread asap"
So I end up here for intelligent posting. Does Ozdat need to change??

I don't think it needs to change at all either.
