G'day new and old Dattophiles.

I've been absent for a few years but still have my 1600SSS in the shed and give it a rev every so often. Current priority is fitting a new interior- like a kitchen in our house.

However I should be back in the saddle at the end of 2016 and exercising the Datto at the autocross circuits around Victoria.
Great to note a lot of the old experience is still active on the forum. Cheers all.

Good to hear you're still around mate! I remember I came round and saw you a number of year ago, forget what it was for!

Our 1600 is still in the garage but we're slowly getting there - been 4 years so far!

Hi Hatchman
I recall your visit and have watched your build thread over the years since. Must be ready for the road/track? soon.

I have been sidetracked for 3 years renovating the house. It should be finished this Xmas, so next year its back to the shed to keep the Datto ready for a bit of fun at autocross tracks.

Just renewed the CAMS licence, so I must get some value from it this year!!

Good to see few old experts are still around to help with Datsun knowledge/experience.

As usual, I went to the Historic races at Phillip Island in Feb '16 and noted a very quick 1600 from the perenial Brown Davis Automotive stable. Used to be a regular rally man but obviously enjoys the circuits these days.
Racing was Reminiscent of the 71/72 TransAm series in the US. Datsun 1600s mixing it with 2 litre Alfa's and BMW's at the Island.

Well worth attending if your into older race cars - over 540 raced this year during the weekend - any motorsport fan would see a favourite from their past glory days still on the track and sounding better than ever.
