Post subject:  L26 Exhaust Setup

Hi all,
Seeking some advice regarding the exhaust setup of my L26 powered 260C sedan. It's a stock standard engine and will remain this way. The original muffler was rusted almost completely off so I removed it and man... what a noise! What would be the best way to go in regards to diameter, mufflers and resonators? I do love the sound of the car without the muffler and would like to maintain a nice voice but the vehicle will be driven regularly on the streets.

Give me your experience and opinions. Thanks in advance

Would love to give mine a nice note, but due to being a 3 speed i will look into something not so loud. It's future plans as i may aswell get extractors while i'm at it, but would like to fix sooner due to holes in the old one. I imagine you'd only go 2" or 2 1/4" system, but don't quote me, i good exhaust shop should be able the supply something close to what you want with out much thought.

Ofcourse if the rest of the system is in good nick, maybe just get a mild sports muffler, last time i did this at A1 exhaust was about $150 to weld a new one on the end.

I'd just take it to an exhaust shop, and if you're not really planning on doing much to the rest of the system, they can recommend one for you, or hold a few up and you can choose which one you like the sound of more!

Got mine done, from memory it's 2/14? Has one resonator and 1 rear muffler. Will only be going to 2 inch on the next one as they do resonate a bit with the larger pipes.

+1 on going to a local muffler shop. In this way, you can have a custom exhaust setup that won't cost too much.
