Hi How's everyone.
Just thought id say Hello
I just brought me a good condition 1 or 2 owner 1979 80,000km 200b SX from a local bloke here in northern WA.
He's just done all the suspension, 2"exaust and new clutch weeks before I got it.
Just brought a Pair of side drafts and manifold and my bros looking into a custom camshaft from NZ(He builds engines).
This will be my second 200b the last one I had was in NZ about 15yrs ago with IRS that I decided to throw off a cliff in good condition apart from the two blown rear tyres.
Anyway I had never heard of the SX before 2-3 years ago any one know if there are many still around.
I will throw some picks up soon as it progresses.

:cheers everyone

Sounds like an excellent buy with so few Ks. The SX was an Australian only model and there isn't many left now days. Still see a few on forums or Facebook but I can't recall the last time I saw on driving.
Look forward to some pics. which colour is it? From memory they only came in Red, Blue and white.

I'd keep it original personally. Only because they are rare. There is reproduction sticker kits around to.

Its the classic case of rare car without huge demand/ desirability. I see some up for sale at silly prices never sell. Yours has low Kay's so that helps. But really I'd say they are a sub $5000 collectable. You might get lucky to the right person for a bif more.
Ask on Facebook a multitude of idiots will tell you $10,000 all day but unsurprisingly none of them want to buy.

Haha 5k would be nice paid way less than that.
I noticed there's not much demand for the 200B's could have some thing to do with weighing more than a small elephant. I personally like the shape.

Post up some pictures! As Dato200B said they are not a super valuable car. There was a nice unrestored one on Carsales recently which started at $14,000 and dropped down to $6,000 before it sold. So I think $5,000 is a realistic figure.

I think 200Bs are a cool shape too. And they're really not THAT heavy anyway. Lowered on a set of non-gigantic wheels and they look awesome.

Doesn't look too bad all things considered. The front bumper can be repaired by a competent fibreglasser. Also that is one of very few second-generation SXs not fitted with a passenger side external mirror.

Yeah it pretty good for nearly 40yo car spent most of its life indoors apparently. 1 small patch of rurt in one rear door, bit of faded paint here and there with a few bumps and bruises decent one on the front right fender behind the headlight.
Will be a slow process for the tidy up I'm also building a ground up hot rod from scratch so that takes the shed and all my time.
