Post subject:  Hi Guys, need help

Well hello there, my name is Jack.

A new forum of like minded people, Datsun lovers.

Purchased my first 1600 in 1968, new from Essendon Datsun.
The beginning of a long time affair with Datsun. Next thing I went through a driving course at Sandown Park and then I discovered
Datsun Car Club of Australia, all this in 1968. I am a foundation member and ex President of this club for many years.
Competed in rallies, motorkhanas, hill climbs, rallycross at Calder etc. including the 1970 Ampol trial. etc

Anyway have owned some sort of Datsun/Nissan all my life, about 16, currently have a very well set up GU Patrol which we now use for touring,

We have done most of Oz including Cape York, OTT, Canning Stock Route ( the most isolated track in the world) and Vic high country etc.

Last week I purchased a Datsun P430 -280C 1979, and when looking for parts I came across this forum and joined, looks good so far.
Have found a donor car if the price is right to fix mine up, all I really need is a driver's door glass, but we will see.

Thanks for reading, cheers Jack

Hi Jack
Welcome . Doing a quick calculation, you must be in my age bracket . First 1600 new in 1971 aged 19, numerous 1600's and 180Bsss over many years until my son's got the bug of cars . Now just finished well 2 years ago full resto on 4 1600's over last 10 years , 3 of which we still have . Divorce next option i'm told if another one appears in the yard unless i sell one . That is very hard to do after spending so much energy on these cars and money .
Great forum and even greater knowledge had by members .
Sorry though , can't help you with drivers door glass.

Thanks for the welcome guys, my search for a door glass has been a success, well if you call it that, it came with a complete car.
Now the decision .......which one do I do up. and which one do I dismantle and store some things and sell off the rest.
Just wondering if there are people on this site needing bits for their 280C-P430, power steering box is already spoken for.

Made a decision and decided to do up the white one with blue interior, it is a 1981 build and is in great condition needs a few things fixed but having a spare car in the shed as well makes it easy.
So will be dismantling the green one with grey interior and parts are available if someone needs them. just give me time to take them off.

The car I am wrecking is a 1979 Datsun P-430.

Any parts for the '79 P430 still available?

Cheers
