i remeber reading that the thing that looks like a bit of pipe that sits between the bearings is precisely measured to provide the right amount of crush when installing the bearings.

is it matched to the swing arm, or the stub axles or um, nothing?

i did a bit of searching and here's the thread from the ozdat list archive that i was thinking of

http://www.mail-archive.com/membersozda ... 31137.html

and it seems the spacer is matched with the stub axle. this is an issue for me cause i'm going to be using the axles that are on the car at the moment, but having them installed on a different set up swing arms which i'm setting up for rear disks.

if you're just changing the bearing but leaving everything else the same i don't think you'll have problems.

according to the workshop manual (scientific publications') you have to match the spacer with the suspension arm.

" eg should the suspension arm hub be marked 'b' then the bearing spacer must also be marked 'b' ".

spacer lengths:
A= 59.02-59.08mm
B= 58.72-58.98mm (don't know if this is a misprint but thats what is listed - would be assuming 58.72-58.78mm or 58.92-58.98mm??)
C= 58.82-58.88mm

good luck with the lock nut :P
