Well I suppose I should put something here

I am slowly building a low budget 1600 hillclimb/supersprint car (perhaps one day a bit of circuit car.)

1971 White sedan with red bumpers.
Stock L16 4 speed
twin su's (hitachi's)
R31 rear disk brakes
15/16 commodore master cylinder
bent front struts with 3.8 degrees negative camber
Roll cage
Harnesses / Race Seats
so far only real improvement gain have been from purchasing some decent tyres
just upgrade to R180 4.8 ratio diff but yet to fully take advantage of it, as only had 1 hillclimb with it so need to get used to new gear change positions etc.

Future Mods .......
currently collecting "bits" for coil overs & front brake upgrade
will eventually do a 260z 5 speed box

engine upgrades......good question
Ka24de transplant
Supercharge my L16
Stroke the L16 to 1760cc
dunno wait and see i guess

cheers Jeff

Heya all, another Queenslander here!

I help Tim and Pete with the (still unnofficial) QPDC Queensland Performance Datsun Club also.

Haven't been as much into the datto scene since selling my CA18DET 1600 (to Mal here on the forums - hey there mate!), some of you may remember it with the plates OCA018.

I now own a pretty much stocko blue Datsun 1200 coupe, which I have just gotten around to converting to manual. This has restored and renewed my love of driving and dattos so hopefully I will be more involved with the Qld datto scene again now!

For those of you who haven't heard of my website or haven't visited in a while - www.turbophile.com has just undergone a facelift, plus lots of new content including feature cars, plus there are still all the photos from previous Qld datto meets and cruises in the gallery section.

I have been informed of a cruise organised by the Brisbane Northside Datsun Club which I will post details of soon.

We are also planning a cruise which will probably take place around June, at this stage we are tossing around ideas for destinations and dates but it will be sure to be posted here with lots of notice when the details have been finalised.

Sorry for the marathon post!!!

Cheers
Charlotte

Hi, my name is Steve
I feel a bit of an outcast not owning a 1600.
My datsun is the classy 120Y sports coupe
CA18t powered, never been on a dyno - approx 200hp at wheels
Mazda B2600 diff converted to Commodore stud pattern
Skyline fuel tank & pump run by chipped std computer
New Monaro front rotors & calipers - saved me a few times
Had a few turbos on it but now has T28bb
15x4 pursuit rims - front
15x7 pursuit rims - rear
Looks ugly with white dodgy paint - but goes f**king hard
Im always out having fun in it

Thanks Steve

I'm Brian, live northside of Brisbane.

Again, I'm an "outcast": as I don't drive/own a 510 :D

I have an 85 TRX Bluebird, but it has a SR20DET and R30 IRS - my plates are 'PSI 910'.. people have probably seen it at other cruises or me just driving about.. if you see me, feel free to honk/wave/stop for a chat.. I'm not scary! - just scary looking

I've got a 1200 coupe that I've been running at Hillclimbs and sprints for a few years. Until the end of last year it has had a few diferent Lseries engines, culminating in an awesome Stewart Wilkins built L18 that was a loan from a mate who unfortunately rolled his 1600 at Noosa Hillclimb the previous year. We did a deal and slotted his engine in my car and dual entered it last year at the QLD Supersprint Series at Morgan Park. 146bhp at the wheels - it was awesome! but I had to give it back to him at the end of last year :(

I haven't touched it this year until just a few weeks ago, when I bought a CA18 off a mate. The plan is to use my twin Webers on it with wild cams and ~11:1 CR.

I've also got an '83 HR30 Skyline coupe with L20ET power. that's the 6cyl L20a engine with EFI and non-intercooled turbo, running a whopping factory 4psi! on second thought, "power" isn't quite the right word :P I resprayed it earlier this year and have been tinkering with it off and on since. Its now 99% finished and just needs a few minor things before rego which may happen this weekend. The interior is still a bit tatty, but that can wait till after its registered, along with some engine mods. This one is just for a street car, but I'll take it to Mt Cotton Hillclimb for some fun, and to see what difference some mods make later.
