i bought a 260 box for 150 with a wrecked 2nd syncro and bought another syncro replacement from stewie wilkins for 150

I have not put my box in yet but i have heard that you have to replace syncros all the time. The steel syncros are sh!t
A long time rally star in WA called Ernie Hastie told me he had to replace the syncros after every rally cause 2nd got crunchy. this was before he went to a hollenger.
He recons he tryed to modify the ramps but with no success.
they are a bad design.

hmmm what was envolved when changing those wires?
Can't remember exactly where the switch was (we did this probably 15 years ago :? ), but once we took the T-Bar bits and box out, there were a few wires dangling loose.

First time, we just left them dangling and it wouldn't start. Eventually just joined the two that went to the switch together and taped them that way. You just need to permanently join them so the car thinks the switch is closed.

We used to get 4 to 5 events with those synchros.
They are the same as the option boxes.

Second gets hammered had.
You swap them around & get another 4 events.

Trick is to mix 50/50 ATF & straight 80 gear oil.
