guys -
i think i gotta sell it.

no time to work on it at all with the new bub - it's just been sitting there for a number of months now.

it's engineered to this point and only needs final certification ($250). it doesn't even need a brake test.

modified volvo automatic shifter.

rack and pinion steering conversion is great and works a treat with only 1.0mm toe at full bump/rebound. has new tie rod ends and unis on the steering shaft too. 100% engineered.

tailshaft is complete with new unis, centre carrier and splines and a full balance.

gearbox has a tiptronic controller to control the std auto - shifting is via the horn buttons.

pod filter and mild steel piping (have a volvo airbox if you prefer)

chev 4 core radiator with twin 10in davies craig thermos hooked up to run full time. can be modded to run on a temp switch if need be.

fuel system is a pierburg feeding a 1.5L anti-surge tank with a bosch feeding the engine. using std 240C feed and return lines (may want to upgrade).

interior is mint original with charcoal sheepskins and charcoal carpets.

delco deal with a local gent here in WA. he will get it running for free (and the engine is half converted to take it), all you need to pay for is a new module ($250) & new O2 sensor ($70). he will also wire up the tiptronic auto at the same time.

exhaust isn't done. can't get a quote from locals because i have no time. CARLINE in osborne park, and TIM SLAKO racing have expressed a lot of interest in making some mandrel headers and exhaust.

alternator may need new bearings - is a little squeaky.

needs

serpentine belt
radiator hoses
throttle cable
coolant
oil
filter

all the hard work is done.

this was quoted as a $12,000 drive in, tow-out-with-no-computer-deal by 2 perth workshops.

all welding by qualified and currently employed boilermakers.

looking for $4500 firm - basically i just want back what i have spent or will look at swap with a VERY GOOD CONDITION 1000, 1200 or 1600 sedan - something along the lines of Cal's 1000 (minus webers, of course!).

pics at http://www.freewebs.com/pro240c/

thanks for looking. :sigh:

Dood, sad to hear it, have been really impressed with the conversion thus far, especially your attention to detail and not settling for "she'll do". It's one of the better idea's I've seen for a conversion in some time, but family is family but cars come and go. Hope to catch up with you at Fast eddies on the 25th for a beer or 3 and a chat hey.

condolances are welcome - but 41 views and no-one at all is interested...?

the computer fit, tune and materials are free guys - FREE! all for the loan of the car for the research into how to fit the delco and for him to make a kit to onsell to others using this engine in light aircraft.

Off topic:

I think its 1 per month on the second wednesday of each month.
making the next on on the 11/5 and the one after on the 8/6.

Back on topic:
So you are selling because you dont have any time to work on it?

Throw a car cover on it, and wait till you have some time.

I haven't touched my Z in months. It been a bare shell for nearly 2 years, but i'd never sell it.
