U87?
i don't think so, it's either U67, or A87!
and if its an A87 yeah they're a good head.

What a D!ck I am......it is a u67

Assuming my L18 has stock internals what is the safest maximum rpm limit that can be used?

Next q?...would a std L18 handle twin 45's or would it bog down?

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY over carbed - you'd need nice big valves and a lumpy cam with either lotsa lift or duration or both to take advantage of the extra air flow capability and fuelling.

oh and a few more RPM up top.

or choke em down and waste a perfectly good set of webers...

IMO, "just" turbo it. you know you want to.

if not, i want you to - and that's all you should need.

Well, the stock redline on mine, is 7000rom. So that's as far as i'd go with mine. However, when it's finished, we might go to 8.

Remember, if in doubt, the crank and conrods are forged from the factory :thumbs up:

My L18 was suffering from valve bounce at 6500+rpm with the stock valve springs. If you dont know what to listen for you might not hear it and drive thru it. oooppps broken valve spring.

This was very audible with the car on the dyno.

Any more than 6500+ rpm with stock valves and you are living on borrowed time.
Just cause the tacho redlines at 7000rpm doesnt mean the stock valves will go there safely for repeated times.

But hey dont take my word for it, rev your stock valve springs to 8000rpm, just dont be suprised when sh#t happens.

Assuming this, and assuming everything else is worked 6 ways from Sunday, i'd say you could revs these things to 7 grand till the cows come home.
