High. I'd say it'll come on somewhere between 3500-4000 and make power through to 8000-8500. Dave |

High to you too, Dave Just make sure the rest of the engine's built to suit the cam, ie porting, carburation, exhaust, etc (and a little balancing won't hurt, either) Putting that cam onto an otherwise stock motor won't achieve a lot. |

Well we are in the planning stages of building our 1800. We have twin 45's on it now, headers and exhaust straight out under the passengers front door. From what little knowledge we have we are going to use the std internals, which we believe will go to 7500-8000rpms with ARP bolts, balanced flywheel, clutch etc(but I stand corrected) High comp ratio is not a concern for us , as the car is track only. We are thinking of 11.1 plus to go with a cam around the 4000-8000 rpms max. We have yet to work out our diff ratio etc but the above is where we are heading. |

Cam sounds good for 4000-8000 to me (read: I have exactly no experience here, just going by what I've heard from others). Fully balanced rotating assembly (balancer, crank, rods, pistons, flywheel, clutch) would be a good thing. What CR you want to run is mostly dependent on the fuel you want to use. Dave |

45s with 42 chokes maybe? Or maybe just run them with no chokes. Dave |

I've looked at this website a few times when I've been wondering about suitability of carbies. http://members.aol.com/dvandrews/webers.htm Its pretty cool, takes you thru selection of all your chokes, jets, aux venturi's etc. There's also a site, almost exactly the same dealing with Dellorto DHLA's - http://members.aol.com/dvandrews/dellorto.htm. Originally put together for Clubman owners in the UK, but the info is all non-engine specific. |

its rev range will be about as long as this piece of string....530 valve lift 306adv duration 264@.050duration 51/75 intake 75/51 exhaust .010 cold lash depends on so many other factors, but mainly the quality of headwork (and the components used), CR, rod length, carbs, headers etc... 45's can only go up to 40mm chokes - not big enough for what Baz suggested as the optimum result IMHO |

Are my 45's big enough for 7600rpms? 50s would be nice. but if you dont have the gear ratios to suit then you are better off with a milder cam & 38 chokes. As L18_B110 stated, this all depends on the rest of the build, especially the cylinder head. |
