Well, it's the morning after...

And I am officially NEVER organizing a cruise again.
Pretty much a disaster from the beginning as we lost people left right & centre even before we were ? of the way through.
And because I decided to do the right thing & wait for people/receive phone calls from lost people the cruise time blew out an extra hour...
The small crew that made it to the end at Belgrave ? all Zed?s BTW + one XR6... said they had a good time. I tried to wave people down as they went past us but no one saw me ? no one even a called me on my mobile.
So, to those of you who came, I hope you enjoyed yourselves.
To those who got lost ? I?m sorry, but did warn you I wasn?t going to hold back.
Apologies to one of our members who left early (you know who you are) - but you just can't bank on the idiot factor... :(
And finally, I big thank-you to ?Jbwetzels? for his navigation ? I was so tired half way through I was having real trouble remembering which way to go...

Now, I'm off to pull my Diff out. Later...

Lurch,

Don't feel bad mate. I'm sure everyone had a good time, regardless of which pack they were with. I'm jealous of you all.

Dave

Yep it was cool. i just had a sick passenger :)

And followed one particular r31 skyline 10 kms in the wrong direction.

i reakon it was good all things considered. You would never be able to get everyone on a cruise that size to the destination, unless u broke up into small packs and had a few leaders.

I had a fantastic time. First chance i've had to stretch the Z's legs, and it was great fun. Next time i'll consider fitting better brake pads, those downhill sections took their toll on my stock setup (I can still smell my pads). Oh yeah, i'll bring a navigator along as well. I'm now an expert at U-turns

Don't be like that mate ... sounds like people enjoyed it...... I would be more than happy to go on the 'next' cruise you organise.... as long as it is in daylight!

Cheers, Neil.[/quote]

Lurch,
Nothing you can do about the idiot factor except set it up as an invite only cruise.
I was riding in a mates Escort and we split early after nearly being rear ended and pushed in to the back of Lurch's Z. This happened while we where stationary at a stop sign and the offending driver ended up parked beside Lurch's Z on the nature strip. Good reactions on his part but we decided it was not worth the risk as we would have had two **** cars if he had not managed to avoid us.
Maybe next cruise lets aim for a smaller group and hit the Spurs (Black and Reefton) where stop signs are taken out of the equation.
Jake

Jake did that incident take place just after a roundabout going right....... as I saw something similar in my rear view mirror as we pulled over.
I think you were parked behind me.

Lurch....... one of the longest cruises I have been on, but it was great. However friday may not be the best day for cruising as there is too many cops out there.

I heard you got along Jack. Pity I missed it. Would've been good to get my arse kicked by a peer. ;)

Hehe, thanks Jack - & yes it was long... :?
'If' I ever do another one I will make sure I don't do it on Friday night - I seriously didn't think there would be that many cops about...
But a weeknight is a real PITA to those of us (like me) who have to get up early for work :(
