lol being blonde/ditzy doesn't stop them learning manual, my girlfriend wouldn't go back to auto now... I think.

I haven't tried one of those 'new' carbies, you can quite easily rekit the one you have and it may come good. Do you have any idea what's actually wrong with it?

$75 for the car trailer hire
$45 for a carby kit
cant wait to take it down and find out what it needs for RWC

also where in MEL is a good place to get one of these tuned?

The oem is usually more reliable than those aftermarket ones. Make sure you upgrade the coil to the right type (bosch HEC715 is recommended) at the same time and bypass the ballast resistor. A few serches on this site will give you the know how.

I'd be cynical about any distributor that was that cheap!

The pertronix elec. ignition conversion kits are good. If you're going to get one of those, buy it with their coil.

I wouldn't muck around with anything like throttlebodies if the car is staying auto. May as well forget about lively driving hahaha

how hard is it to convert one of these to a manual?
and what gear box would you guys suggest?

Bolt in mostly. Just use factory bluey 5 speed and associated parts like flywheel clutch, pedal box and clutch master cyl etc...

just got the best RWC all i have to do is replace all the suspension rubbers and engine mounts and i will be in the road

how much are manuals worth for this?
what gearboxes are compatible with this car? (180b, stanza, 1600)
