Hey man, what tailshaft did you use?

and if you are worried about the 5-0 you should get a new set of socks for the webers as it makes the engine bay a whole sot cleaner looking, oil stains and police never mix well.....

Hey Team_dat,

The tailshaft is Cut down by using the original Sunny one, and a 240z front yoke. I had it balanced and checked and have had no problems.

As for the filters, I've cleaned them and they look a bit more respectable. But I do plan to get some K&N's for it :)

Update.

The rear end in the sunny has been making some very ugly vibrations lately, so i put her up on a hoist and put it in gear... and the left axle was wobbling like crazy (up and down, not in and out lol.) So then became the time to hunt up another diff.

I've opted for a Stanza h165 rear end, instead of a h190. Reason being that its my daily driver... with the odd sunday squirt.

I got ahold of a 24 spline h165 from a rallied stanza, the owner is upgrading to a h190.

It comes with a 4.8 and a 3.7 centre, but Im going to try find a 4.11.

As for the brakes I'll use Bluebird rear drums, because they're free lol. I'll sort out a disc to disc setup later on down the track, but for now the drums will do the job.

I'll replace the sunny trailing arms with stanza ones, and use nolethane bushes to stiffen it all up.

This will all be going in within a few weeks, I'll be sure to have a camera handy!

Cheers again Guys,

Tristan.

New Arrival - Part Donor Car.

Picked this 79' Sunny up cheap for parts.

Missing - Bonnet, front windscreen, Engine & box.. and rear springs (see pic  )

Came with 200b struts, straight 1980 (square nosed) bumpers and various other goodies.

The doors have very minimal rust in them - so they will be transferred to the "red one" and resprayed along with the rest of the car when the time comes.

Here's and update on the Red one.

h165 in, with lowered kings, just setting up brakes at the moment.

Pulled the rocker cover off to adjust the tappets - noticed timing chain was stretched to all buggery.

So with that I've decided to build another engine.

Plans are:

L20b Bottom end, balanced crank & rods, 86mm flat top pistons.

W53 head (from L18, ported and shaved)

74 degree cam? (ADVICE PLEASE)

Twin 45 webers - from L18, with 36 or 38mm chokes.

Thats a start... anyone willing to give advive or personal opinion, please feel free to do so.

Cheers Guys.

how exactly "easy" is this conversion? I have been given a square light sunny another unknown style Sunny, and a stanza...

Do a search.

But, essentially you need the engine cross-member & engine mounts out of the Stanza - it all
bolts into the Sunny with no mods required.
