Gday, im trying to find out which cam would be most suited to the mods im doing to my L18.

The mods are:

Head: New valve guides and seats, standard 42mm intake and 35mm exhaust valves, match extend port to 35mm intake ports (same as manifold.)

Carbs: Twin 45mm webers, 34mm chokes.

Block: Standard bottom end, block had been decked, new rings & bearings.

From the information I have there, what would be the most suitable cam for my engine specs.

I'd say a 72 works cam for sure.
I ran a 72 works with twin 44mm SU's with great results.

Exactly.

So 34mm chokes would be more than ample.
Not the best but ample.
Atleast they are 45DCOE's and not 40DCOE's.

Wade make a 72 works copy.
Which is what I have used.

I should add, I got good results with the 72 and the 44mm SU's with significant porting done to the inlets.
