You have good spies Harry :)
equal first place with Craig at 47.78
I am definitely a turbo convert, one atmosphere simply isn't enough
Hi compression & low boost seems to suit me perfectly.
looking forward to the next hillclimb.

yes, turbo is the answer to everything. not many people can go back after having proper turbo power. equal 1st place with Hollywood Hornibrook (as I now call him after his catalyst appearance) is a bloody good result for the car's first outing in turbo form! does that mean you two have to share the beer glass trophy?

I can't wait to see it go now. what's your next event? I might have the 1200 ready for the next SAS.

Craig was on Catalyst ?
I still don't know who officially won or if we share first place ??
they don't do trophies at the event anymore you have to go to the clubhouse to pick them up next Friday night.

I wouldn't mind doing a practice session at QR to test how its going to be temperature wise on the circuit. I have some concerns about heat. but it depends on finding the time which is difficult at the moment.

events that might happen are:

QR Practise Friday 2nd may (i need to phone and ask about this as its part of QRDC meeting)
14th May - time attack (wednesday)
QHC 30th may to 2nd july (definitely entering !)
Grafton 7th june (maybe / probably not ??)
QLD 500 8th June - but finding it hard to get team together & car still untried on circuit. any interest from you in running it (40 laps per car at night) ?
Lakeside 9th june - timeattack
QR SAS 24th may
MG Tighe Noosa 14th -15th june
Topgear weekend 28th june
mt cotton 6th july

ah, you'll be in my class now Jeff! I suppose I better wheel the 1200 out for that one. Haven't used it since the AHC last November.

sounds very interesting! I'd have to test the car out first to see if it has any hope at all of lasting 40 laps. But I am interested. I've done alot to try and fix the turbo flange stud problem. What are the licencing requirements? How many cars do you need for a team?

I am going out friday arvo to see if mine will handle a few laps strung together on the paperclip.

QLD 500 is a team of 2 to 4 drivers
licensing is AASA National lisence.
practice & qualifying in the morning. racing starts at 3.00 pm and finishes in the dark
Michael Mclean & his dad are interested in running their 1600 sports sedan.

check this out http://www.qldraceways.com.au/events/Q5 ... index.html

I dont know if my car will handle it yet so its all still up in the air. not to mention finding the money for tyres, fuel & entry etc etc.
need to buy or borrow a dorian timer as well.

yeah, and 46's aren't on the pace for that class - sport sedans. I'm actually thinking about getting an turbo restrictor made up and retune so I can run in IPRA. The Championship Record for Improved Production 3001-5000cc is 46.87 set by Michael Collins WRX in 2003. That's a realistic target.

I don't think I'll be ready for the 500 in just 5 weeks. I'm not sure the overheating and turbo flange problems are sorted, and there's not much time to give it a proper shakedown. With the QHC the week before I think I'll just do that.

hey, have you seen any entry forms for the QHC yet? its only 4 weeks away and they normally close 2 weeks in advance

the Supra is a sports car :) but I don't want to go to a hillclimb full of slow MGs.

yeah it should do. I've been meaning to take it to the hill to see what it does, but I've only got street tyres for it. I'm not spending $1800+ on 18" semis just for a bit of fun every once in a while. I'd get a set if I ever decide to sell the Datto

change of plans - I don't think I'll be running at the QHC. the car really isn't ready and there just isn't enough time to do the things it needs before then.
