Yeah I'm from the Nation's Capital.
Chriso, my 180B never runs hot, even in summer, with me thrasing it, and it doesn't even have a fan - let alone the fan shroud!! I turn it off after 5 minutes if the car isn't moving though. And yes my gauge works and it has a working thermostat.

Sounds to me like there is something else wrong??

Blown head gasket? Blocked radiator tubes? Stuffed water pump...

Overheating problem seems to have gone away. I replaced the rad cap and thermostat and for a few days the gauge went up and down like a yo-yo, but it has settled down now and is pretty consistent.
