it's a long way from running - but renovating saps all my funds and time at the moment. i snuck in an hour while the wife was out shopping to do a bit lately.

can't wait to upload these manifold pics. AK saw it in bits the other day - it's all tacked together now and looking awesome.

cheers for the comments 8)

Lurch - the L series seals were a PERFECT fit.
Glad to hear it mate! :D

A mate of mine runs the L-series VSS's on his race tuned RB30et.
Due to the valve/valve spring combo he's running, the std. RB30 VSS's were 'binding'.
He tried a set of L-series one's & they fitted perfectly

Go bless Nissan/Datsun interchangeability

damn straight! 8)

they fit really tight over the guide, so they won't be popping off anytime soon. and the valve slides like something proverbial thru it all. it's exactly what we need for a high revving and reliable top end.

9000rpm here we come.

then BANG!

the collector sits OVER the engine mount - so it should be a nice snug fit.

those welds seem a bit sick, did you clean up the metal first?
what are you welding with?

but sexy design, very space efficient.

yeah the welds are agricultural - arc welder, 2.0mm rods, 100amps.

it'll blow a hole thru the steampipe if i'm not careful, it't that hot. it's got FULL penetration, i can hear it sizzling out of the collector as i weld

also, some of those welds haven;t had the slag chipped off. again, me and my lazy arse...
