Hi Mark

....depends on your definition of 'fun', I suppose! Shell looks pretty straight and rust free (except for that gutter line ?) though. Look forward to seeing how it develops...

Cheers, Neil

can I please have a closer look at the speedo in that car??

It looks to have a totally different version of speedo KM/h reading on it than I have seen before, looks like a nice version to scan and make copies of to me??

Hi Neil
Part Fun, Part headache i whould say is the more appropriate term, around the bootseal has badly rusted, rear quater are not to bad, still to grind more bog away and i'm sure i will find more rust.

Will take a better shot of the speedo and put the pic up in the next couple of days.

Cheers Mark O

Yeah that is the one Lucas had, we have done a deal and he is going to get my 180b and i get the 1600, plan is to put a cage in it, fix the body and then swap some of the parts from the 180b into the 1600.

Hi ozdatters,
just a couple of updated pics of 1600, 80% of the rust removed at the moment. I replaced a lot of patches of metal. Car has just a cheap spray can primer on it at the momet, will eventually get bead blasted, got some roll cage tubing will start building cage soon.

Can anyone recommend what i should use as the primer after bead blasting,

Etch primer how good are the corrosion propeties of this primer, there is a product called POR15 has anyone used this product before, could i maybe paint the whole car with POR 15 as the primer.

Any info greatly appreciated
cheers Mark

Hi everyone,
a couple of updated pics, i have just gotten back into fixing rust as some bloody neighbour complained to the council about me making to much noise (grinder), so i had about 3 months down time as i found somewhere else to work on the car.According the the local council you are only allowed to do minor vehicle modifications at home. Anyway that problem is fixed as i have been given a storage room at work to use, the bonus is an engineering workshop for me to use on weekends. Time to get stuck into fabrication.

Purchased the roll cage tubing, that will be the next thing to do after the rust repairs

Cheers Mark
