Hey guys, thought Id post some pics of my coupe.
Im in NZ, and bought this about 4 months ago!
As this is the only KP510 in NZ, I will be keeping it as original as possible.
progress will be slow, as I dont have huge amounts of money, and Im still paying off the bank loan for the coupe.
I also have a 1970 Datsun 1600 with CA18DET that soaks money from me too.

My coupe and my dads sedan:

I have already had all the rust taken care of, for compliance reasons.
once I get it road legal for NZ, I'll take it back off the road again for a decent respray.
Then go about trying to find bits like original hub caps and whitewalls e.t.c.!

Spent my sunday wiring up my sequential tail lights in my coupe.
These were a factory option back in the 70's for the coupes.
I managed to find one on Yahoo Japan, and get it running 8)
Cool huh?

heres the pic of the one I seen on Yahoo Japan. note the Nissan box, and new rear loom that came with the unit factory
This one ended up selling for something stupid like $500NZ!!! I cant remember exactly
[ img ]

heres the unit itself in its wierd glory.
This one cost me about $80NZ 8-)

theres 2 relays inside, one for each indicator.
normal state, all pins are connected together, and to the brake light signal.

when a relay is on, it switches to connecting the pins to the cam switches.

The cam is driven by a worm drive motor.
it has a small capacitor connected up also, which is there to make sure the cam stops in the same position each time you turn the indicator off.

the 6pin plug is all the "ins" brake and indicator signal e.t.c.
the 2 small 4pin plugs go to each of the tail lights.

I have only wired up 3 wires of each tail light so far....the 4th wire is wierd.
cant figure that one out......
4 wires...
1 = L1
2 = L2
3 = L3
4 = ???
L1 being the inside light ( first in sequence ), L3 being the outter light ( last in sequence ).
the 4th wire gets power at the same times as pin 1 ( light 1 ) when indicating, but does NOT get power when the brake lights are on.

Anyone got any ideas?

cheers, I think they're wicked too!

SX-510 from datnet has figured out what the 4th wire is for......for the front indicators!
how could have I completely forgotten about them!

well, I got some new toys from japan today.

got my fog light grille 8)
Its got a cracked lense, but I got a brand new lense along with it.

and heres a JDM centre console, that has the map light above the stereo.
also the switch to the left of the ashtray ( usually blanked off in export models ) is the switch for the fog lights on the grille. (pre-wired on my coupe)
