hey all,

if i were to use hydraulic roller lifters where std hydraulic lifters used to be - with no other changes other than dbl valve springs and a lumpier cam - would it be beneficial for engine longevity and reliability?

i need new lifters for the A12 and the 192 and i was just reading up about the V6 hot up article in SM and holden fitted roller lifters to the V6 when they borrowed it from buick and doubled the top end lifespan between rebuilds.

cheers.

Due to the design of the A series ones I doubt you could make a roller cheaply enough for it to be beneficial

Pricey
But yes you can buy them for a Holden 6

I would say the rover v8 theory is more dreamwork than fact
