what are the big differences between a ca20 gear box vs a ca18 box.

I know the ca18 box is supposed to be shorter but just want to see if anyone has any experience with the two boxes

Thanks

Ca20 has an external (ish) attachment of its gear lever. I don't recall if the lengths are different. The gearstick sticks up in a different location i think though.
Been a looong time since I've had the boxes next to each other sorry.

The ca20 box is the earlier FS5W71b with a ca bellhousing for series 3 bluebird/pintara.
The ca18 box is later desigh FS5W71c for silvia /180sx and as already mentioned has different shifter setup although both boxs are same overall length. Go with the later one,

The later box is sooooo much nicer. It is roughly 50mm longer from memory and the gear stick position is further back. But as bluebird68 mentioned it's a later design and closer to that of an SR20 box and similar to an RB20 box without a 3rd main bearing.
