Hey Guys,

i was wondering if anyone knew the legalitys on custom crossmembers? i need to make one for my L18-120Y install and was wondering if you need to have that rubber cusion in the for legal reasons or can you just solid mount it to the body?

solid mounts are legal, but the mount has to be made of hi-tensile steel to minimise cracking. this is from an engineering point of view anyway.

i take it the crossmember sits below the body still when you try and bolt it up and the gearbox hits the tranny tunnel roof yeah...?

try this packing method that i've used between the x-member and the mount. completely 100% legal with longer hi-tensile bolts.
