I need some advice on how to trace and fix the following non working gauges in my dash

Fuel,gauge
Temp gauge reads G... Possibly the sender
Charge light is,illuminated when key removed from barrel and car turned off
Heater fan not working.

Also are the factory tacho dashes, plug and play or do wires,on the plug need to be moved around, or additional wiring needed for tacho with elec blue bird dizzy

Thanks

Here's the dash gauges
Where do the oil pressure readings come from and also volt meter?

You will need to swap a few wires around.
Have done this more than a few times.

Is there a write up or a diagram baz?

How does the oil pressure gauge work too? Do I need a special sender or are the stock ones variable in their current? I thought they only kicked in at less than 20psi

Cheers

I have some notes & a mud map for my self.
See what I can do, we are flat out with a lot of stuff at the moment.
You will need the SSS sender for the oil gauge to work.
We also get the std tach to work with SR ECUs as well.
No probs with the volt meter, its already to go.

Does any one have the wiring pin.colors and numbers for the sss dash?

Or the sss wiring diagram? The plug is the same but the sequence of wires changes into the wheel.

Also what wires needed to get voltmeter and tacho working.

Im also trying to find out if after market oil pressure switch will work with sss dash.

Hi, any one got a sss wiring diagram for the dash? Guess will have to work it out my self.

Or a sss owner that can tell me which colour wire is in which pin on the wheel plug

Found part.

Now what about oil pressure, amp meter and tacho?

its easier to trace out mik than follow a diagram that usually wont match , been there with mine
grab a multimeter and workout the pins on the dash pcb to what dail
then trace the wheel and loom to what device , tach would have to just feed off the coil i gather, volts is prob just a + running through the dail to gnd , oil pressure will need a stocker or maybe give a vdo sensor etc ago ,

I got 2 old vdo oil sensors you can test with.

Or just redo it aftermarket.

Thanks for that. The white tacho input has a plug on it. I just need to work out if that needs a signal from pos or neg coil terminal.

The amp meter makes sense too from what you say.

I like diagrams.... In crayon usually.

Id prefer not to add too many after market gauges. A stock tacho Would be great and the oil pressure gauge too.

Amp I don't really care about. I just don't want to plug it in and fry it

Which pin is number 1 on the dash and the plug? The one with the key part or the one at 6 o'clock on the pin wheel.

The 6 o clock one makes sense as pin 4 is blank on the diagram and that pin is blank on the dash too.

Well 300kpa is apparently the top range of the oil pressure sender required. Nissan said nla.

Anyway back to issues.
I got rev lights horn and heater motor working.
Can't get fuel gauge reading and now car won't start. Cranks but no start.

So racking my brains all week and reading wiring diagram just now for the 1000th time just realised through the fuse box, the black white wire to the pos of coil is on same fuse as rev switch (green wire) but also n same side of fuse are the following items
green wire
Neutral safety switch if was auto (pretty sure was always auto)
Black white wire
Auto choke relay
That bridges to voltage regulator
fuel cut solenoid
Vacuum switching solenoid that also has a black green out of it to the hornrelay

Blue black wire
rear demister (was already working )

Now replacement carb is non auto choke and the original was auto choke but float and accel pump stuffed.

Any advice I'm possible checks to make?

Tried hooking up the black white and the black blue to the positive on Coil. Still nothing.

I think its auto elec time soon. Im going to have to be bent over side ways,on this.

Oh and I shorted out the fuel gauge.... it works so float in tank must be stuffed. :-(

I'm have to go thru this on my SSS soon - temp & fuel gauge not working.

From what I have read it points a faulty voltage regulator on the instrument cluster.

Have you checked this? I'm following this thread with interest, please keep us updated
