g'day, just wondering if someone could tell me some more about these 94 180sx wheels
[ img ]
i mainly want to know the size and offset, and if they'll fit my 1600 with 240k struts, and lowered king springs, without needing flared guards. would spacers need to be used? any advice greatly appreciated.
cheers,
dave

they are 15 inch wheels, depending on how wide they are you will probly need some sort of spacing on there... 180sx front struts can take much wider wheels than 1600 ones..

A quick google tells me standard offsett on 180sx is +35-40.

You need a +20-25 offsett rim for 240K struts on a 1600 according to everything I can find.

Cheers,
Mal

so could a set of spacers be a fix for this situation, so long as the wheel isnt too wide?

Hey,
I know that they are 6 inchs wide.
A mate has a set of standard 180sx wheels on his 180b, they fitted no problems.

yeah i just found out that they ar 6 wide too. and have 205 tyres.
so if i used some longer wheelstuds and a fat spacer would they squeeze in under the front without needing rolled guards?

I'd imagine they'd fit under the frontguards well, if you need a spacer it would be fairly small. If it fits on a 180b it will fit on a 1600.

I ran 15x6.5 S13 wheels on my 1600 for years with no problems.
They where aftermarket mags though with 195/50's.

I run the exact tyre/rim combo as turbo510.
They stick out abit on the front tho because of the large dishes the rims have.

I tried fitting factory 180SX/silvia wheels (not the type shown, the multi "teardrop" ones), they would not fit on my 180B SSS, the fronts wouldve needed a 10mm spacer to clear the struts, and the rears needed 5mm to clear the lower control arms. They did fit perfectly on a stock R31.

hope this info is of a little help.

Guys,

Firstly you must make sure the Road and Traffic Authority (or Vicroads if you live in Victoria...-evil poo poo heads....) allows you to run spacers.

Vicroads doesn't.....

I have heard that if you attach them to the wheel in some way (bonded or screwed etc)... then they are not seen as spacers.... they are part of the wheel... anyone confirm this?

James,

Any modifications to an ADR compliant wheel such as adding a spacer (to try and make it legal) would be voiding the ADR testing and hence compliance. Therefore it is still not legal.

No modifications are allowed to wheels. ( )
So all you datto owners with wheels spacers, go out and buy wheels that fit!
