really depends what you consider cheap, but no you wont find anything that will bolt straight in for under 1k i dont think (lsd)
just get an R180 (open), assuming you didnt already have one, they bolt straight in, out of 240k's and some others, do some searches.
then there is the r200, bigger and stronger and heavier again, but requires some modifications to fit.
like i said lots of info if you can be bothered searching
cheers,
dave

Dont think thats quite true. All have to have the halfshaft changed or 1600 stubs put in.... hardly "bolt in"

I also believe the plate which bolts onto the driveshaft needs to be modified to suit...

But even with these mods you should come out under $1000 but if your blowing r160's already... I'd go for r200, going price is about $800 and should be good for big HP. SW motorsport sells moustache bar to suit

some of the earlier subies r160 (from say the RX turbo) clutch pack R160 LSD, all that is required is removal of the torx screw stub axles and in goes the 1600 stubs,

its been done

I might be keen to sell my r160lsd in a few months, it's out of a rx turbo subie. I have had it in my car for around 3 months and am going to up grade my power to around 200kw which will snap the r160 like a twig

the diff is really tight and locks an outside tyre on a wet day turning hard
i recon it was one of my best investments i ever bought for the 16

R180 from a 720 4wd ute is the R180 to look for. Nigh unbreakable.
Mostly cause they were not used much in 4wd mode and would have been (free spinning) without much load on them. So most will be in top nick.
Ratios from 4.11 to 5.1. I have a 4.87 in my Daily driver. Fun in the wet and on the dirt. :)

They are an R160, same basic diff as a 1600, but the ones I have seen are 4.111 rather than the 3.7 ratio for a 1600

The later Viscous LSD centre's from the Liberty RS Turbo will also swap with the RX Turbo clutch pack centre with some slight grinding of the diff housing ribbing. This gives you options of a viscous or clutch-pack LSD centre, and ratio's of 3.7, 3.9, 4.11 or 4.44.

I reckon the R160's are slot stronger than people give them credit for (if driven in a sensible manner!!)
