Hi guys,
I'm trying to get my R180 into into my 1600 and was wondering if there are any tricks to getting it in and bolted up to the mustache bar???
I tried today for sometime but just didn't have the room to get the diff forward enough through the subframe for me to get the mustache bar bolted onto the two studs???
There has to be a simple trick? From what I have read, the factory r160 mustache bar can be used?

Replace studs with bolts.

The companion flange on the front of the diff. will need to be the same size as the R160 or have two opposing flats to fit through the "K" frame. Good luck Bob.

I have changed the flange on the front of the diff to the r160 one which fits through the subframe.

Might be a stupid question but..... How do I remove the studs?

Use two nuts on the stud, lock one against the other then using the nut closest to the casing, unscrew with a ring spanner and extension if necessary

Drop the moustache bar, loosely attach it to rear of diff, leave nuts loose, so moustache can tilt,
Jack it up while slding forward, slip moustache onto body pins, jiggle it a bit, fit the washers/nuts onto pins, loose, now fit front f diff bolts to attach diff to K frame, tighten them, then toghten the back.
Job done.

So the mustache bar between the R160 and R180 is the same ? I'm about to upgrade the diff, I thought there was a length difference, but haven't checked yet.
