I was driving in the city today and noticed a green Datsun Stanza coming up behind me. I could see that it had garden state number plates and some timber on the roof. It looked a little but rough, but it was an excellent colour.
By chance I ended up in the lane next to it at the next set of traffic lights. I took a photo of the car and then got the attention of the driver, who was a lady who at a guess was in her 50s, and I complimented her on her car. She was telling me how much she loved it because "it just keeps going, and if something does go wrong, you can actually fix it". She then proceeded to tell me that she used to have a 1976 Holden panel van, but when the police took it off the road for being too rusty, she bought the Datsun for $500. I told her that in my opinion it was an excellent upgrade. The lights went green and we went off in different directions, the Stanza making an unmistakeable L-series noise as it took off.
It certainly put a smile on my face for the rest of the day
